From April 7 to 12, 2025 in Lorient, Allures Yachting brought together an international community of owners for the first-ever edition of Owners’ Week – Master The Adventure: an exclusive, immersive seminar dedicated to blue water cruising skills and owner networking.

Training for Offshore Self-Sufficiency

Over six days, participants strengthened their technical skills through hands-on workshops led by expert trainers from Escale Formation Technique, the training school of the Grand Large Yachting group:

  • Marine diesel engine maintenance
  • Onboard electrical systems
  • Offshore safety and survival
  • Offshore weather, with guest expert Christian Dumard
  • Watermaker use and maintenance

Each session combined theory with hands-on exercises involving actual onboard systems—changing an oil filter, analyzing onboard energy needs, or flushing a watermaker. Sea trials on Grand Large Yachting yachts, including a visit to Île de Groix, brought the learning to life.

100% Women’s Sailing Session

A highlight of the week: a navigation session dedicated entirely to women. On long-term cruising projects, role sharing is essential, and sailing independently—even without a partner—is a vital step toward confidence on board.

Inspiring Guests & Meaningful Exchanges

British sailor and offshore legend Pete Goss honored this first edition with his presence, reconnecting with several owners he had previously met during the Owners’ Seminar.

The community also attended an inspiring talk from the Tara Ocean Foundation, focusing on today’s ocean challenges and the principles of responsible navigation.
