Bluewater Cruising 2026 Seminar: From Dream to Action
For this new and13th edition, the “ bluewater cruising ” Seminar, organized by the “ Grand Large Yachting ” group, invites you to join us on January 31 and February 1, 2026, in Paris, in the magnificent setting of the Thalassa houseboat. Experts, instructors, and seasoned sailors will take turns helping you gain clarity and begin planning your sailing project.
Open to everyone, the seminar is aimed at both experienced sailors and aspiring adventurers looking to take the plunge for the first time. Through lectures, travel stories, and in-depth discussions, this new edition covers essential topics: routes bluewater cruising, weather, health on board, safety at sea, insurance, choosing a boat, and day-to-day organization. An event designed to provide concrete, honest, and personalized answers tailored to each individual project.
This year's 2026 edition features some exceptional speakers
_ Xavier Desmarest, co-founder of the Grand Large Yachting group, will talk about the genesis of the project and the importance of sharing experience in long-distance preparation.
Meteorology expert Christian Dumard will help you understand the climatic conditions of far-flung destinations.
_ Roland Jourdain, a socially conscious sailor, will share his perspective on how the experience of “ bluewater cruising ” changes our relationship with the world.
_ Peggy and Emmanuel Lapierre, owners of an Outremer 45, will recount their three-year voyage between the Mediterranean and the Caribbean.
_ Laurent Marion, a trainer specializing in the bluewater cruising, will share his insights and discuss issues related to safety at sea.
Jan Van Opstal, owner of a Garcia Exploration 45, will talk about his expeditions from Antarctica to Polynesia.
