‍

Tatihou Island - Normandy - France

‍

How does DARE TO DREAM help prepare for bluewater cruising?

‍

A round-the-world voyage or several years of sailing begins long before the first crossing.

Which route is consistent with the seasons? Which equipment is genuinely relevant to the programme? What level of autonomy is needed? How should life aboard and responsabilities within the crew be organised?

Through workshops, expert contributions and discussions with other owners, participants can examine the connections between the different parts of their project. A route influences equipment choices. Equipment affects energy requirements and maintenance. The duration and nature of the voyage shape life aboard and crew organisation.

‍

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to long-distance sailing. The seminar provides practical guidance and insights from real-world experiences to help each crew develop a plan that aligns with their own priorities.

‍

Christian Dumard and Pete Goss: Experience to inform preparation

‍

Christian Dumard, a specialist in meteorology and route planning, will share his expertise on understanding weather systems and preparing for ocean voyages.

Pete Goss will share the experience he has gained through his voyages and ocean projects, offering the perspective of a sailor accustomed to reconciling preparation with the realities of the sea.

Their presentations will be complemented by testimonials from boat owners who have already set out on long-distance voyages. From truly useful gear to changing habits and decisions reconsidered along the way, their experiences provide concrete guidance for those who are currently preparing to set sail.

‍

Christian Dumard - 2025 Edition

‍

Hands-on workshops and a shared experience

‍

DARE TO DREAM brings together boat owners at different stages of their journey. Some are still planning their route. Others are about to set sail. Still others are returning with several thousand miles behind them.

The workshops provide an opportunity to discuss practical decisions with specialists and construction site teams. Informal discussions allow crews facing the same challenges to share their experiences with one another.

For Allures Yachting, this transfer is part of a broader support program that includes preparation, training, and follow-up for property owners.

From October 9 to 11, 2026, on Tatihou Island, DARE TO DREAM will offer three days to help participants move their “ bluewater cruising ” project forward with greater focus and peace of mind.

‍

Because before it becomes a highway across the ocean, a “ bluewater cruising ” is built, one choice at a time.

Northwest Passage

Vanuily Completes the Northwest Passage Aboard His Allures 45 [2/2]

Aboard their Allures 45 Vanuily, Anne and Hugues completed the Northwest Passage after sailing through the Canadian Arctic, Bellot Strait, the Beaufort Sea, and the Bering Strait to Nome, Alaska.
September 14, 2026
min

Bellot Strait: A Key First Passage

‍

After Burnett Inlet, Vanuily set course for Port Bowen and then Fort Ross, at the entrance to Bellot Strait.

Anne and Hugues are waiting there for the right tide, wind, and ice conditions. The strait is only 18 nautical miles wide, but the strong currents and rapid ice movements make it essential to choose the right window carefully.

On August 11, Vanuily entered Bellot Strait aboard the Coro Coro—a 73-foot aluminum sailboat. Hafiz, Sadik’s Garcia Explocat 52, followed shortly afterward.

The chosen window is favorable. The current remains moderate and there is almost no ice. At 1:30 p.m., the Vanuily exits the strait and sets a course south into Franklin Strait.

‍

An important milestone has been reached. There are still 2,200 nautical miles to go before reaching the Bering Strait.

‍

Vanuily at anchor in the glassy, wild waters of the Canadian Arctic.

‍

From Cambridge Bay to the Beaufort Sea

‍

As the ice gradually broke up in Victoria Strait, Anne and Hugues decided to head directly to Cambridge Bay.

The route then continues westward to Cape Bathurst and on to Tuktoyaktuk. In this shallow region, which is sometimes poorly charted, navigation requires constant attention.

‍

‍

After Tuktoyaktuk, the Vanuily enters the Beaufort Sea. From that point on, ice once again becomes the primary factor affecting the expedition's progress.

‍

‍

Sailing to the Rhythm of the Ice

‍

Vanuily arrives at Pauline Cove on Herschel Island. Hafiz had arrived a few hours earlier.

We'll have to wait.

Ice charts and forecasts are monitored closely. Sadik also uses his drone to observe the situation around the boats.

‍

Vanuily, Hafiz, and two other sailboats attempting the Northwest Passage are anchored at Pauline Cove

‍

When an opening appears, Vanuily resumes its westward journey. At times, the ship navigates between closely spaced pieces of pack ice, seeking out the most open areas. Further on, a corridor near the coast allows the ship to continue toward Alaska.

Little by little, the ice is becoming less abundant.

‍

Point Barrow, then head south

‍

After several more delays due to weather conditions, Vanuily reached Point Barrow, at the northernmost tip of Alaska.

Hafiz and Vanuily set off together. At 11:30 a.m., Anne and Hugues round Point Barrow at 70°30' N.

‍

From there, the road clearly changes direction: heading south.

‍

‍

The Vanuily sails under a colorful spinnaker as seabirds fly overhead during its voyage through the Northwest Passage.
After passing Point Barrow, Vanuily continues southward under spinnaker, accompanied by the flight of birds.

‍

The ice is now almost behind them, but their progress remains dependent on the weather. One low-pressure system after another is sweeping across the Chukchi and Bering Seas. The crews wait when conditions require it and set off again as soon as a window of opportunity arises.

‍

The End of the Northwest Passage

‍

After Point Hope, Vanuily crosses the Arctic Circle again, this time heading south.

‍

Anne and Hugues had crossed it in the opposite direction 49 days earlier. For them, this latest crossing officially marks the end of the Northwest Passage according to current sporting rules.

‍

‍

Nevertheless, Vanuily continues on her way.

A few miles further south, the ship leaves the Chukchi Sea and the Arctic Ocean and enters the Bering Sea in the Pacific. Next comes the Bering Strait.

That leaves 130 nautical miles between the Diomede Islands and Nome.

‍

Arrival in Nome

‍

After one last night and a day of sailing along the Seward Peninsula, Vanuily reached Nome, Alaska.

At 6 p.m., Anne and Hugues sailed into the harbor behind Hafiz. The two boats moored side-by-side, and once the formalities were completed, the crew could finally celebrate their arrival in the Pacific.

‍

Vanuily and Hafiz raced together in Nome, Alaska, and their crews celebrated with champagne
Vanuily and Hafiz are moored side by side at the port of Nome—Champagne!

‍

But the journey isn’t over yet. Anne and Hugues still need to find a shipyard where Vanuily can spend the winter and make plans for the boat’s maintenance after this long voyage. Completing the crossing doesn’t mean everything comes to a halt in Nome.

But a major milestone in their journey has now been reached.

Congratulations to Anne and Hugues for guiding Vanuily through the Northwest Passage. It was a challenging voyage, undertaken by the two of them, navigating through ice, weather windows, and thousands of miles traveled since they entered the Arctic. Well done to both of them for this magnificent achievement aboard their Allures 45.

European Yacht of the Year 2027

The Allures Horizon 47 Nominated for the 2027 European Yacht of the Year Award

The Allures Horizon 47 has been nominated for the 2027 European Yacht of the Year award, in recognition of its new approach to the bluewater cruising, designed with safety, comfort, and life on board in mind.

Event

This appointment comes at a significant moment for Allures Yachting. With the “Horizon 47,” the shipyard is opening a new chapter in its vision for the “ bluewater cruising ”: preserving the fundamentals that have defined its sailboats since the beginning, while reimagining how a long-distance sailing vessel can keep its crew connected to the world around them.

‍

A new perspective on the bluewater cruising

‍

TheHorizon 47 combines the core features of an Allures sailboat— aluminium hull, composite deck, centerboarder , and twin rudders —with a new approach to space, protection, and life on board.

Developed in collaboration with Berret-Racoupeau, the Horizon Frame Concept in particular enhances the continuity between the interior and exterior. The panoramic view from the saloon, the sheltered cockpit, the " lowered side-decks ," and the fluid layout all serve the same purpose: to make life at sea easier, whether underway or at anchor.

‍

‍

‍

A sailboat designed not with a specific destination in mind, but for the variety of situations and paces that make up a true “ bluewater cruising ” project.

‍

‍

The third Allures sailboat nominated for European Yacht of the Year

‍

TheHorizon 47 follows in the footsteps of two Allures sailboats that had already been selected for this European award.

The Allures 39.9 was nominated in 2014, followed by theAllures 51.9 in 2022, in the Bluewater Cruiser category. TheHorizon 47 is now the third Allures sailboat to be nominated for the European Yacht of the Year award. Since neither of the two previous models won the title, this new nomination offers the shipyard another opportunity to present its vision of the bluewater cruising to an international jury of specialized maritime journalists for their evaluation and feedback.

‍

The selected sailboats will be tested by the jury in Mallorca in October, before the winners are announced at boot Düsseldorf in January 2027.

‍

For theHorizon 47, this nomination is already a recognition of the design, engineering, and manufacturing work that has gone into the project.
‍

What happens next will unfold in the environment for which it was designed: at sea, with a crew on board and the horizon ahead.

Meet the Allures Yachting team in Cannes

‍

From September 8 to 13, 2026, the Allures Yachting team will be at the Cannes Yachting Festival to meet with sailors who are planning their next project at bluewater cruising.

This year, no Allures sailboats will be on display. Cannes remains, however, a great opportunity to meet our teams and take the time to discuss your project: the destinations you’re considering, your lifestyle on board, the level of self-sufficiency you’re looking for, and the priorities that will guide the design of your future sailboat.

Because preparing for a long-distance voyage isn't just about choosing a boat. It's about bringing together an itinerary, a way of life at sea, and technical choices into a cohesive plan.

‍

Discover the new Allures Horizon 47

‍

The Cannes Yachting Festival will also be an opportunity to learn more about the new Allures Horizon 47 and to speak directly with our teams about the ideas that guided its design.

Designed with the realities of bluewater cruising in mind, theHorizon 47 is designed for owners planning long-distance voyages, ocean crossings, or a round-the-world sailing trip. It builds on the Allures approach to the bluewater cruising : combining the peace of mind offered by aluminum construction with a sailboat designed with safety, ease of handling, and quality of life on board in mind.

In Cannes, our teams will be able to present this new project to you, answer your questions, and discuss with you how theHorizon 47 fit into your own navigation plan.

‍

One event, two complementary worlds

‍

The Garcia Exploration 60 will be on display in Cannes. Its positioning and sailing program are quintessentially Garcia, with a focus on self-sufficiency and demanding expedition sailing. A tour of the boat, however, offers a firsthand look at the level of craftsmanship shared by our shipyards: expertise in aluminum construction, attention to detail, and high standards in the construction and finishing of the interiors.

For this event, Garcia Yachts and Allures Yachting are using the same appointment scheduling system. So, to speak with an Allures representative, simply select “tour & sales appointment” after submitting the Garcia form to book your time slot.

‍

This will allow you to take advantage of your visit to Cannes to tour the Garcia Exploration 60 and meet our Allures teams at the same time.

‍

Let's take some time to talk about your project to bluewater cruising

‍

A long-distance project begins long before the first few miles are sailed. The boat’s setup, life on board, self-sufficiency, sailing plan, and personal priorities gradually come together to form a cohesive whole.

Meeting with us in Cannes allows us to better understand your project and gives you the opportunity to ask the questions that matter before moving forward.

Northwest Passage

Vanuily, a 45-foot yacht, is heading toward the Northwest Passage [1/2]

An Allures 45 has set out on an attempt to sail the Northwest Passage. This voyage takes them off the beaten path, into the heart of the Canadian Arctic’s rugged landscapes and challenging conditions.
August 11, 2026
min

During the first few weeks of this voyage, the Vanuily sailed from Nuuk to northern Greenland, through the fjords and landscapes of Disko Bay, and then on to Upernavik, the last major stop before crossing Baffin Bay.

‍

Vanuily at anchor in Nuuk, Greenland

‍

On this route, Anne and Hugues regularly run into Hafiz, Sadik’s Garcia Explocat 52, which is also attempting the Northwest Passage. The two boats sail at their own pace, but their paths cross several times: off the coast of Greenland, at Upernavik, and then on the other side of Baffin Bay.

‍

Vanuily at anchor with the Explocat 52 - Hafiz

‍

‍

After crossing into Canada, Vanuily arrived in Pond Inlet on the night of August 2–3. Anne and Hugues met up with the Hafiz crew there before continuing westward, notably through Navy Board Inlet.

‍

‍

On August 8, the latest available information indicates that the Vanuily was at Burnett Inlet on Devon Island, already at anchor when the Hafiz arrived there. Their further progress now depends on the conditions they encounter further west and on how the ice situation develops in the Canadian Arctic.

‍

After Cuba andWest Africa, a new chapter begins for Anne, Hugues, and their Allures 45.

Horizon 47: The first hull has arrived in Cherbourg—time to start assembly!

The first hull of the Horizon 47 arrives in Cherbourg after several months of construction in Condé-en-Normandie. A key milestone marking the transition to assembly, it already showcases the lines and craftsmanship of the Allures Yachting shipyard.
April 9, 2026
min

When a shell is revealed

‍

In Condé-en-Normandie, the aluminum teams’ expertise was fully on display in their highly precise work. From the very first glance at this hull, the boat’s lines are immediately apparent: an elegant, sleek hull designed to deliver excellent average speeds and support sailors on their longest voyages.

‍

‍

‍

His arrival in Cherbourg also allows for a closer look at the quality of the craftsmanship—a reflection of the care taken at every stage of production.

‍

‍

Metalworking expertise at the service of production lines

‍

Among the features that immediately catch the eye is the “bodywork” around the Horizon Frame Concept showcases the project’s technical sophistication. The delicate form of the lightwell through the bulwarks a prime example: a detail that is both structural and aesthetic, demonstrating the teams’ expertise in combining industrial precision with elegant lines.

‍

A new phase is beginning

‍

With the arrival of the hull in Cherbourg, the shipyard is now entering a new phase.

On the agenda:

  • system installation
  • integration of facilities
  • start of carpentry work

Next up is a milestone in the construction of an Allures: the deck installation. This is a pivotal moment that will give the boat its final shape… and already promises some stunning photos to come.

Horizon 47: Sheet metal work and sanding - The aluminium hull shape

After assembling the sailboat’s structure on a workbench, as described in our previous article, theHorizon 47 has passed several key stages in its construction. Watch the hull take shape.
February 18, 2026
min

Plating: assembling the aluminium hull casing

‍

Once the bow, frames, and stringers have been assembled to form the impressive structure of the boat, it is time for the plating stage. This involves gradually adjusting, positioning, and welding the preformed aluminum sheets onto the "frame." Each sheet is spot-welded, checked, and then continuously welded, ensuring both the precision of the shapes and the robustness of the whole structure.

‍

allures-horizon-47-aluminum-hull-plating

‍

This meticulous process brings the sailboat to life. It requires a thorough understanding of the thermal and structural constraints associated with welding to ensure strict adherence to the architect’s hull design. Horizon 47 thus takes shape, panel by panel, revealing the smooth yet powerful lines of its sculpted hull—a hallmarkAllures Yachting.

‍

allures-horizon-47-aluminum-hull-structure

‍

Sanding: revealing the material, enhancing the shape

‍

Next comes the sanding of the aluminum, particularly the welded areas, which is both a technical and aesthetic step. It visually unifies the hull and removes any construction marks. Each area is carefully worked on to preserve the purity of the curves and highlight the Allures signature: beautifully shaped hulls that are pleasing to the eye and gentle on the sea.

‍

This demanding and patient craftsmanship reflects all the expertise of the shipyard's boilermakers.

‍

allures-horizon-47-aluminum-hull-sanding

‍

The Turning of the hull

‍

Once sanding is complete, the hull is turned over. This operation, carried out with precision by the shipyard teams, is a key moment in the construction process. Lifted and then tilted using specialized equipment, the hull leaves its initial position to reveal its full volume and allow work to continue.

‍

Beyond its spectacular nature, this turnaround marks a turning point in construction, paving the way for the next stages of manufacturing.

To date, 46 units are sailing on oceans around the world. It naturally incorporates the shipyard’s core design principles: a shaped aluminum hull, centerboarder, and a composite deck.

‍

‍

Designed for couples, but also appreciated by solo sailors, the Allures 40.9 offers a particularly successful compromise between interior volume and ease of handling.

The classic interior layout—featuring a U-shaped galley and a face-to- chart table at the foot of the companionway, along with a large, full-width central salon—ensures excellent freedom of movement both at sea and at anchor. Between the large overhead portholes in the roof and the five hull portholes on each side, the Allures 40.9 is bathed in light and offers a wide view of the outdoors. The boat comes standard with a forward cabin, a aft cabin , and a Workshop storage system, which is essential for bluewater cruising.

Expertise forged by experience

The construction of an aluminium hull Allures Yachting on a proven process that combines precision, rigor, and the transmission of skills.

On a special piece of equipment called a table, the boilermakers first assemble the vertical structural elements: the bow, the watertight bulkheads, and the frames.

The horizontal stringers are then welded to the frames to form the complete skeleton of the hull. This structural phase determines the strength, geometry, and future behavior of the sailboat.

The next step—plating—will consist of installing the formed aluminum plates, which will be welded progressively onto the structure, starting with the bottom of the hull.

Rich and inspiring exchanges

‍

This year's event brought together some thirty participants for a program combining testimonials, workshops and technical presentations. One of the highlights of the event was a talk by Christian Dumard, an expert in meteorology and routing, on the subject of planning ocean voyages.

‍

Christian Dumard in presentation

‍

Testimonials from Brigitte and Johan, owners of an Allures 40.9 embarking on a Tour of the Atlantic, and from Fiona and Adrian, an Australian couple sailing in Europe aboard their Garcia Exploration 45, offered a concrete glimpse into life on board, the organization of daily life, and the realities of long-distance sailing: managing self-sufficiency, dealing with the unexpected, but also savoring the simple pleasure of sailing together and exploring the world at their own pace.

‍

"This sharing between navigators is essential. They give confidence, inspire and remind us that every project is unique." Jérôme GUILLOU - Marketing Manager Allures and Garcia

‍

‍

Hands-on workshops and team spirit

‍

The thematic workshops provided an opportunity to address the major topics of the “ bluewater cruising  ”:

  • "Your route?" - Build your route and anticipate hazards,
  • "Skipper & crew " - Being both a couple and a crew
  • "Equipment: what do you really need?" - Adapting your equipment to your program

‍

These interactive sessions, led by the construction site and group teams, embody the DARE TO DREAM spirit: supporting each homeowner in bringing their project to life at bluewater cruising.

‍

‍

A community united around travel

‍

Over coffees, lunches and shared evenings, participants strengthened the bonds that unite the Allures and Garcia communities. In a simple, friendly atmosphere, everyone found a listening ear, advice and inspiration to prepare for the next stage of their adventure.

‍

"Thank you so much for sharing and for this seminar. We came home with stars in our eyes, more confirmed than ever in our choice to embark on a grand tour by boat. The exchanges, the stories, the energy... it all really touched us. What's more, we've met some wonderful people, with whom we hope to keep in touch via the WhatsApp group we've created. Thank you and bravo again for all the organization." Agnès

‍

‍

Tatihou, an inspiring interlude

‍

The choice of the island of Tatihou, accessible only at low tide or by amphibious boat, adds a symbolic dimension to the event. Between sea, wind and clear horizon, the setting invites reflection and escape - a perfect metaphor for the journey we're all preparing.

‍

‍

A must-attend event

‍

A signature event of the Allures Yachting and Garcia Yachts shipyards, DARE TO DREAM is a privileged opportunity to listen to and share ideas with the sailing community. A week of training to promote independence in bluewater cruising

Over the course of six days, participants were able to strengthen their technical skills through hands-on workshops led by expert instructors from Escale Formation Technique, the training school of the Grand Large Yachting group. The sessions covered the core fundamentals of the “ bluewater cruising,” including marine diesel engine mechanics, onboard electrical systems, safety at sea, and survival procedures, as well as an in-depth introduction to offshore weather, presented by Christian Dumard. A specific session was also dedicated to the management and maintenance of the “ watermaker.”

Each session combined theory and hands-on experience with different equipment: engines, watermaker, beacons, life rafts... Everyone was able to change an oil filter, learn how to make their own energy balance, or rinse a watermaker circuit. Sea outings on Grand Large Yachting yachts rounded off the week, with a stopover on the island of Groix.

High Latitude Challenge, Jimmy Cornell's new event

Jimmy Cornell, the man behind the creation of the ARC transatlantic rallie just 40 years ago, is launching a new event aimed at all those wishing to explore high latitudes by joining up with other sailors: the High Latitude Challenge. Extreme routes are on the agenda, with Antarctica and the Northwest Passage as the main objectives!

‍JimmyCornell, a regular at high latitudes

‍

‍Thefamous explorer navigator knows all about the peculiarities of such destinations. On several occasions, he has sailed to these lands himself, including the successful completion of the Northwest Passage, from west to east, in 2015. In 1999, he had already visited Antarctica aboard his yacht at the time. He therefore planned this itinerary to reach the destinations in the right seasons, and to benefit as much as possible from favorable wind and weather conditions along the way. He also knows the most suitable ports for technical stopovers before venturing into these remote regions.

‍

‍Aone-year clockwise loop

‍

‍JimmyCornell thus plans a departure from Cherbourg in September 2026. The descent of the Atlantic will take in the Canaries, Cape Verde, Rio de Janeiro, Mar de Plata before reaching Ushuaia, to wait for the right window to cross the Drake and reach Antarctica, the first jewel of this course. As part of the preparations for the High Latitude Challenge, Jimmy Cornell will be hosting a series of webinars covering a wide range of practical issues, from weather forecasts to ice piloting, safety aspects and high latitude navigation techniques. Presentations will be given by experts in their field and sailors with first-hand experience of navigating to Antarctica or the Northwest Passage.

‍-New: Allures 51.9 - new vintage

‍

New

A new vintage for Allures 51.9

Allures Yachting a new version of its flagship model,Allures 51.9, a 16-meter sailboat. The updates include a redesigned hardtop, additional rigging options, and a new interior design. ‍
12/2/2025
min

Launched in 2022 and building on the legacy of the Allures 51 and 52, theAllures 51.9 carries on the Allures concept of bluewater cruising sailboats in a 50-foot version , featuring a sleek h aluminium hull, centerboarder, and a composite deck. Designed by Olivier Racoupeau, theAllures 51.9 is already a benchmark among bluewater cruising sailboats ranging from 50 to 55 feet.

‍

TheAllures 51.9 's nearly 6m-long cockpit impressed on launch. Farniente, reception, maneuvers, piloting, preparation for nautical activities - you can do it all in the greatest comfort, without disturbing each other. Not to mention the huge storage areas aft. Ideal for long-distance cruising!

‍

The interior is characterized by a large central volume, with no bulkheads, featuring a large U-shaped galley, ideal for use at sea, a double-seated chart table and a voluminous saloon. At the stern, a wide, full-width cabin quickly won over owners, providing the space needed for long periods of comfortable life aboard. The bow includes a double cabin with bunk beds, a double cabin and a second bathroom.

‍

‍

Designed to visit the world

‍

In June 2024, the first unit delivered returned to Brest from a 3-year round-the-world trip via the Tropics. On their return, the owners praised the qualities of their boat for such a voyage, and assured us that they would not have chosen another. Another unit, after two seasons in the North Sea, reached the United States last summer, taking the "Viking Route" through the Faroe Islands, Iceland and Greenland. The other units are currently sailing in Europe and the Mediterranean.

‍

A new hard top + hardtop package

‍

‍Alluresis therefore offering a new vintage of this model from April 2025, featuring an optional new hard top design combined with a hardtop. The whole is more rounded, but still just as protective, ensuring full headroom in the cockpit as you exit the descent. It's the ideal equipment for keeping watch, well protected from wind and sea spray. It's also ideal at anchor, for shelter from prevailing winds and the sun, while maintaining an unobstructed view of your surroundings.

‍

The new hardtop also features a retractable fabric roof.

‍

Anew rig with boom furler boom mast or carbon mast

‍

Ondeck, in addition to the classic aluminum rigging with mainsail the mast, this new model offers an optional rigging with mainsail boom . Fully battened, the mainsail a positive leech and gains 9 m² of surface area. A mast is also available as an option, with a mainsail furling system mainsail boom.

‍

It gains a little more surface area, but above all, it's the weight savings in the upper section, which limits pitching, that will be appreciated, especially by new tourdumondists from the world of regattas, who are looking for even more performance.

‍

A new, more classic interior design

‍

‍Inthe interior, with design by Isabelle Racoupeau, the new vintage of theAllures 51.9 also offers a new ambience with darker woodwork, in addition to the light ambience. This proposal will appeal to lovers of more classic interiors.

Master the Adventure: a week to hone your skills

From April 7 to 12, 2025, in Lorient, Allures Yachting brought together an international community of owners for the very first edition of Owners’ Week – Master The Adventure –, an immersive and exclusive seminar dedicated to technical training on the bluewater cruising and to networking among owners. ‍

min
Event

‍

100% women's navigation

‍

Another highlight of the week: a sailing session just for women! The division of roles on board is key to the success of a bluewater cruising project. Sailing without a partner is also part of helping women gain confidence on board.

‍

‍

Exceptional guests & moments of inspiration

‍

British sailing legend Pete Goss honored this first edition with his presence, reuniting with owners he had met 6 months earlier at the Owners' Seminar.

‍

‍

The community was also treated to an inspiring talk by the Tara Foundation on contemporary ocean issues and responsible navigation.

Rallie

A memorable circumnavigation

A fleet of 32 boats, comprising more than 100 crew members, 13 nationalities, and 2 dogs, set sail from the Canary Islands this October on a three-year adventure around the globe. Organized by the Grand Large Yachting group, the world leader in bluewater cruising

To mark this milestone anniversary, Grand Large Yachting organized its very first “ rallie ” around the world, giving bluewater cruising enthusiasts the opportunity to write their own story, drawing inspiration from the journeys of legendary explorers.

‍

The project attracted participants from all over the world, including Canada, the USA, Brazil and Australia, as well as several European countries.

‍

To make the event accessible to sailors of different experience levels, Jimmy Cornell and the Grand Large Yachting team have carefully designed two routes for this circumnavigation: a tropical maritime route, that of the trade winds and traditional trade, which will use the Panama Canal, and a southern route, more faithful to Magellan's original voyage, via Patagonia and the strait to which he gave his name. These two routes will converge in Tahiti, where the whole fleet will sail together for the rest of the rallie.

‍

“As a company, our mission is to enable anyone—whether an experienced sailor or not—to fulfill their dream of a “ bluewater cruising ” while respecting the oceans, by providing them with the safety, peace of mind, and support they need at every stage of their journey. We are thrilled to be able to make this a reality by giving our sailors the opportunity to travel around the world with the support of a group that provides not only a boat but also the training and services that go along with it, ensuring a safe and memorable experience.”

‍

What makes this so special is that, as part of the official events commemorating the 500th anniversary of the first circumnavigation of the globe, we're connecting people who share the same passion, and who are about to enjoy the experience of a lifetime together. We can't wait to embark on this fabulous journey with everyone involved," enthuses Xavier Desmarest, co-founder of the Grand Large Yachting group.

‍

In keeping with Grand Large Yachting's philosophy, the voyage will take place over three years, at a pace conducive to the discovery of local countries and cultures, with numerous stopovers, some of them in the world's most beautiful places. On September 27, 15 of the 32 boats set sail together from La Grande Motte for Seville, the city from which Magellan's fleet set sail in 1519.

‍

The crews met up again at the end of October for a week of visits and festivities, culminating in a special ceremony at Seville's Comandancia Naval, where Jimmy Cornell received the Cross of Naval Merit, the highest civilian distinction awarded by the Spanish Ministry of Defense, in recognition of his involvement in highlighting the maritime exploit that was this 1st round-the-world expedition.

‍

Before leaving Seville, the crews were invited to light a candle during a symbolic ceremony at the Church of Santa Ana, where Magellan and his crew were blessed 500 years ago. The fleet, which includes five Allures sailboats, set sail early on Sunday, October 24, heading for Santa Cruz de Tenerife in the Canary Islands, where the official start of rallie on November 21.

Allures 51.9 - under the sign of hedonism

TheAllures 51.9 continues its development, combining technical excellence and sensory pleasure. While work continues between the Allures Yachting design office and the designers at Racoupeau Yacht Design, particular attention is paid to the experience of sailors. Chef Emmanuel Tessier has contributed his vision to finalize a kitchen that is both practical and pleasant, designed to make the most of every stopover. A connected, comfortable and convivial living space takes shape, true to the spirit of the 51.9.

In parallel with these construction phases, the development of this benchmark unit is continuing in the Allures Yachting design office, in conjunction with the Racoupeau Yacht Design designWorkshop .

‍

In this context, we are deliberately focusing on the theme of hedonism, in the sense of seeking out the pleasures and sensations that can be derived from having a pleasant, functional galley on board the 51.9, an ultra-connected environment, an audiophile-standard music reproduction system, a tempered wine cellar and a cockpit saloon that is very welcoming in all circumstances.

‍

‍

So, in parallel with this development logic, and in order to enhance the experience of users of theAllures 51.9we have asked chef Emmanuel Tessier to help us finalize the cooking of this model, making it a receptacle for exclusive marine flavors, enhanced by the scents and tastes of Roellinger spices. Finally, from a commercial point of view, the distribution of theAllures 51.9 continues with French and foreign customers. We will continue to keep you informed of these developments, with the launch of unit #1 scheduled for late winter 2021.

Allures yachts allow you to aim for a sailing program tailored to your needs, on all the seas of the globe. Likewise, they are designed to offer you moments of plenitude, favoring the perception of privileged atmospheres and sensations. For example, chef Emmanuel Tessier, based in Cancale (22), is helping to finalize the galley of the Allures 51.9, the flagship of the Allures Yachting range, to make it a receptacle for exclusive marine flavors enhanced by Roellinger spices.
